Nuwaraeliya
Nuwaraeliya is conveniently covered under the shadow of the tallest mountains of the island with all attractions of scenic beauty. It has unique arrangements of plateaus, ridges intermountain basins, and valleys. Its four mountain ranges are Piduruthalagala the tallest mountain in Sri Lanka 2524meter Kirikalpotha 2388m, Thotupola Kanda 2357m, and Adams peak 2243m.
Nuwaraeliya became a quaintly cloned English Country or daughter of England for its forests and meadows, and salubrious climate.
Nuwaraeliya is suitable to visit throughout the year but during April it blossoms. A picturesque race course, the granite edifice of the Hill Club an 18-hole golf course, and a botanical garden are the heart of the town, Haggala Garden is just 3km from the town, Seethala Temple. Ancient history says that King Rawana brought King Rama’s wife Seetha and detained her at Seethale. Local Hindus worship this temple.
